'Shy Bladder'/Paruresis

WHAT IS 'SHY BLADDER'/PARURESIS?
If you were to say to someone, 'I can't pee in a public toilet', the response would probably be, 'Oh, me too!' But, to millions of people, this problem actually ruins their lives. Many such sufferers are in executive jobs, or looking after a family; some are women - most are men.

For many, their subconscious is programmed to remain 'macho', so they develop a secret phobia. They worry where the toilets might be on a plane, on holiday, at a friend's house, or in a business meeting. Their flow of urine might start and stop, or not start at all (misfire). Thinking they're being watched, or keeping people waiting, worry can set in.

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
HELP you:

  • Recognise the anxiety and decide to beat it
  • Relax regarding taking your time
  • Beat locked bladder
  • Scrap your inner voice
  • Train your subconscious how to behave in public toilets
  • Overcome your phobia

 by TEACHING you:

  • how to handle anger and guilt
  • how to increase urge
  • how to handle misfires
  • how to tell people

The media often makes light of 'Shy Bladder' – for example the sitcoms 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and 'Peep Show', or the comic strip 'Dilbert'. This can reinforce to sufferers that it is not important enough to get help with. But I know how the condition can affect every aspect of your work, home and social life. Through a combination of psychotherapy and medical hypnosis, exercises and homework for using public toilets, I know I can help you, as I have countless other clients who are delighted with my method.
